These terms apply to use of Surveyor’s Edge, the Surveyor’s Edge website, and related materials provided by Surveyors Edge, LLC.
Use at your own responsibility
Surveyor’s Edge is a field mapping, project organization, navigation, coordinate, photo, track, alignment, layer, and documentation tool. The user is responsible for deciding whether the app, the active project settings, source data, GPS hardware, coordinate system, localization/calibration, field procedures, and outputs are appropriate for the user’s intended purpose.
Not a substitute for professional judgment
The app does not replace professional surveying, engineering, construction, legal, safety, or field judgment. Do not rely on the app as the sole basis for legal boundary, construction, engineering, safety, navigation, or other decisions where inaccurate data, incorrect settings, poor GPS accuracy, or misuse could cause harm, loss, or damage.
Accuracy depends on many factors
Coordinates, locations, station/offset values, alignments, tracks, layers, photos, offline maps, and derived calculations may be affected by device GPS accuracy, satellite conditions, source data quality, imported file metadata, projection selection, units, localization/calibration quality, map provider data, user input, and field procedures. Users should independently verify important results with appropriate professional methods and equipment.
User data, third-party data, and field conditions
You are responsible for the data you import, create, export, share, or rely on. This includes verifying file formats, coordinate systems, units, localizations, alignments, map layers, permissions to access a site, rights to use third-party data, and compliance with applicable laws, contracts, safety requirements, and professional standards.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Surveyor’s Edge, the website, documentation, and related materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. This includes, without limitation, warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Surveyors Edge, LLC and its owners, members, managers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages arising out of or related to use of, inability to use, misuse of, or reliance on Surveyor’s Edge, the website, documentation, coordinates, locations, station/offset values, map layers, project files, photos, tracks, alignments, offline maps, exports, or related outputs.
User assumption of risk
By using the app, you assume responsibility for your work, your data, your field decisions, your verification procedures, and your use of the app’s outputs. You agree that you will not use the app in a way that transfers responsibility for your professional, legal, safety, field, or business decisions to Surveyors Edge, LLC.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app, website, legal requirements, or business needs change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
